Saying good bye to our ICP-MS

This week we started disassembling our dear ICP-MS for decommissioning. The core instrument from our group will go into retirement after more than a decade of service in Bachelors and Master thesis, Ph.D. and post-doc research, and external analyses.

Analysis was not always easy, and there were a couple of tricks to get a hold of (the run to keep the cooler on at the start of the day was almost as good as a cup of coffee). The XSeries2 was a good lab companion for the first years of the group and although some people would say it does not work, Britta would say otherwise.

Thanks for the good (and bad) times, XSeries 2!

An update on our new instrument will soon follow, as soon as we get it settled in.
