Happy international Women's day!

Last Friday morning, as the cores collected recently in Rio Tinto were being dissected, a sudden realization came to the lab: a full team of women was doing it, applying their vast knowledge and techniques in chemistry, geochemistry, geology and even photography! It was not too long ago that such a view was not possible in many labs (or working places) around the world, and that has just become possible to be thanks to the fight for equal women rights.

In the Environmental Geochemistry group, we support equality of academic and professional opportunities, so today on March 8th, we want to celebrate the strong, intelligent and diverse women that build up our group from the very core: The head of the group, Britta, our post-doc, Carolin, our secretary, Inge, our PhD candidates, Andrea and Anne and our Master students, Asel, Aya, Nathalia, Erica, Grethe, Eva, Laura, Merle, Pham, Alejandra, Celina and Anna. That’s 68% of our group!
